February 2012
We hope that you have had a good new year so far. We are working hard at recognizing and continuing to write our names with proper grip and with lower case letters. We are continuing to cut with scissors. They need practice with MUCH supervision of course. We've stressed that we only cut paper and not clothes or hair! The colors, shapes, letters, and numbers are improving. We are working hard on getting coats on and off this time of year- practice makes perfect. They have progressed in so many areas- please make sure that they know you are proud of them! We are!!
We will have lots of fun in February also. We will talk about presidents, Valentine's Day, dental health, and healthy foods. We will have a special visitor (an Abe Lincoln look alike) for Abraham Lincoln's birthday. Please allow your children to do valentines for their classmates. We will exchange cards at the parties (2/13 and 2/14). Please do not put names on the envelopes so that they will be easier to distribute. You may leave the envelope blank or put "to my friend" on it. Please remember to "sign" your child's name (or let them help) on the back.
We will also have a special visitor for "Dental Health Month." Dr. Maurer will come and teach us all about keeping our teeth clean and healthy. We want to thank him for taking time from his busy schedule to visit us at preschool.
