Mrs. Polino and Mrs. Wood’s Class

        We can hardly believe that January is over!  Time sure does fly when you are having fun!  February is going to be another fun month.  We will be continuing with our letter and number study-E, D, L, K, U and 6-10.  This month we will also discuss Groundhog’s Day, Presidents Washington and Lincoln, Dental Health, and Valentine’s Day.  Our resource schedule is full too with visits to Christian Values, the computer lab, and Spanish class.  We will also have a visit from a dentist, Dr. Callery, to learn about taking care of our teeth!

     All of our friends know their home address!  We are so proud of them!  We could tell everyone was practicing at home…thank you!  We will start working on phone numbers at the end of the month.  Once the children learn their phone numbers, they will get to hang their phone up on our classroom wall of honor!

     Our Valentine’s Day party is Tuesday, February 14^th.  Please let your child sign his/her name to each classmate’s valentine.   Put the card in an envelope and leave the front blank.  There are 17 children in our class.  The valentines will be distributed on Valentine’s Day but feel free to send them in early and we can keep them in the classroom.  This is a wonderful way to practice writing our names and counting.  Consider doing a couple of valentines each day so the task doesn’t seem so overwhelming!

     We are also going to send a Valentine package to our Australian friend, Quinn.  We have made some cards for Quinn at school, but if your child wants to send a special valentine, picture, or note to Quinn, please send to school by February 6^th and we will include it in the package!  We know Quinn will be thrilled to hear from her old friends!
